Christmas 2011

(I wrote this right after our Christmas vacation but with the move I am just now getting it posted!)

Baby B is a whopping 24 weeks as of yesterday! I am not very good at keeping up on these blog posts, but I've committed to posting more often in 2012 :)
Christmas this year was quite eventful.  We drove up to South Dakota and spent time with Barbara and Joe on Christmas Eve. Then we drove to MN to drop the puppies off with Grandma and Grandpa Chesnutt.  After the drop-off we drove another two hours to Alexandria, MN to spend a few days with Matt's mom and brothers at Arrowwood Resort.

Our relaxing vacation was cut short when Matt had an accident with a double paned glass door and he went flying through it resulting in 12 stitches in his leg, some behind his ear and glue stitches on his forehead. Here are a few (non offensive) photos of the incident.
Matt suffered his biggest injury on his left thigh. The day he had the stitches removed the doctor told him had the glass gone one inch further in any direction it would have cut his femoral artery which can be deadly.  Praise God for protecting Matt!  Below is the cut and stitches behind his ear.  Believe it or not, these stitches were some of the most painful because they were on the bone.

After the dramatic end to our short lived relaxation retreat, we drove back to the cities to meet up with my family and see Matt's dad.  Matt's dad caught a terrible stomach flu the night we were there so Baby B and I promptly retreated to my parent's house for the remainder of the trip.  Meanwhile my mom was struggling with atrial fibrillation and ended up in urgent care and then the ER the next morning!  Thankfully they gave her some medicine to control the episodes and are now doing testing on her thyroid and adrenal glands to see what is causing her episodes.  We did manage to get some relaxation time in at mom and dad's.

 Presents for our injured Matty!

The night before we left MN it snowed! The puppies got a chance to put their little furry paws in it. A great time was had!

We finished up our "vacation" by spending a night in Kansas City with our friends and their extended family.  It was finally the nice relaxing get together we needed.  A final 10 hours of driving and we were back home in Tyler, TX.  I had to admit, I've never been happier to be back in our apartment and more specifically our bed! That night of sleep felt like heaven.

Whew. I'm exhausted just thinking about our Christmas this year!

Now onto new adventures in 2012!  Baby B is growing and my belly proves it.  One exciting thing we did over our trip was take maternity photos.  Christina of Electric Lime Photography did a great job. I can't believe we have less than 4 months until our sweet Baby B joins us! She will be born in Lafayette, Louisiana!

Baby B, we can't WAIT to meet you!!
